Singing songs in worship to God.

Singing songs in worship to God.

Have you ever wondered why Christians sing worship songs to God?

As you can see by the above scripture, this what God wants us to do. It's a beautiful form of worship to the God who created music anyway.

It's very pleasing to God, to hear congregations and even individual people, singing praises to God on high. It stirs the hearts of people and allows them to become closer with God. The beautiful words and melodies even stirs the heart of God.

Psalm 96:1  Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.

Psalm 40:3
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD.

Psalm 149:1
Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.

You can see, that in the Bible, it is very scriptural to sing songs to the Lord.

I will give you a few verses from songs that I have personally written.

Some are full songs and some are just worship songs.

Something good is going to happen to you today
Something good is going to happen because you prayed
Something good is going to happen God loves you
Something good, God is good. (x2)

Another one is:

Let it rain on me, let it rain on me
Let your Holy Spirit come down and rain on me (x2)

Let your presence come Lord and fill me up
Let your Holy Spirit come down and rain on me (x2)

Let me know your will Lord please guide my path
Let your Holy Spirit come down and rain on me (x2)

Over the years, I have written many Christian songs and poems. They are songs, words, or if you want to call them lyrics, of how I feel about God. It is an expression of my worship to God. When we sing within a Church, it's called corporate worship, that is, where we all join together and sing.

So you can see, this is what God wants us to do, to praise Him with musical instruments.

When we sing songs of Praise we are thanking God for Jesus and thanking Him for his goodness in our lives.

1st Chronicles 13:8 David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, even with songs and with lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals and with trumpets.
