Tell everyone about your faith.

Tell everyone about your faith.

This blog is  to reach out to Muslims and Christians. To try and help each other understand what we believe about God or Allah.

It's for me to try and illustrate to you, what Jesus means to me, and for you to try and illustrate what Mohammed means to you.

  • Why do you worship?
  • To whom do you worship?
  • How do you pray?
  • Do you stand to pray?
  • Do you kneel to pray?
  • Why do you kneel on a carpet?
  • Why do Christians sing worship songs?
  • What is the significance of the cross?
  • Do you sacrifice?
  • Do men and women pray together?
  • Do you pray at home?
  • Are all Muslims the same?
  • Are all Christians the same?
  • Why so many different denominations and churches?
  • Why call Him God?
  • Why call Him Allah?
  • Do you sing at the Mosque?
  • Do you sing at the Church?
  • What type of celebrations do you have?
  • How do you feel about other people from other religions?
  • Why do you believe in God or Allah?
  • Do you believe in Heaven or Hell?
  • How many times do you pray each day?
  • Do all Muslims believe in the same thing?
  • Do all Christians believe in the same thing?
  • Do all Muslims like each other?
  • Do all Christians like each other?
  • What is the name of your Church or Mosque leader?
  • Do you eat meat?
  • Are there limitations to what you can eat or drink?
These are just some questions that I know people ask.

The problem is, sometimes we're scared to ask, or just don't feel comfortable, that we really need to know.

The truth is, it's good to know how other religions worship. It gives us a better understanding of how they worship and to whom they worship.

In this way, we get to know them better, we get to appreciate them better and ultimately, get to love them better for who they really are.

Yes, there are cruel things that happen all around this big world we live in. There are acts of violence that most people in the world absolutely hate. The problem is, we then start to stereotype people, we think, that just because someone from that religion does something cruel, that everyone from that religion is cruel.

It's just not true, it doesn't mean that everyone from that religion is cruel and hateful like their counterparts.

Let me give you an example. I'm only giving this example, because people in this world, seem to think it's just other religions that are hateful. But, there is hatred in every sector of the world.

There is a Christian Church in Topeka, Kansas called Westboro Baptist Church. They are a very hateful Church, they hate everything and anybody. They are very well known for their hate speech.

Most Christians and Churches denounce their hatred activity in the name of God. These people are not Christians, they are very sinful in their activities and true Christians would not tolerate such things.

So, I ask you the question, does this make me or every Christian a hateful person? Does this mean, I am like them, or Christians are like them? Of course not.

So, let me ask all Christians reading this blog. If a Muslim commits a crime and takes lives around the world, does that make every Muslim bad? Of course not.

We have Muslims living around the world and in my city of Edmonton, Alberta who just want to live their lives in peace. They want their children to go to school and have an education. They want their children to play with our children. They want to make friends, just like all Christians want to make friends.

Many years ago Christians used to have a slogan called W.W.J.D.
You would find this on wristbands, books, bookmarks, toys and bracelets. The inscription stood for "What Would Jesus Do".

I ask all Christians everwhere in the world, What Would Jesus Do?
Would Jesus love the Muslims? If you're still doubtful and not sure, read this famous scripture in God's Bible.

John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

After talking to my Muslim friends, they told me that they believe in Jesus. They may not accept Jesus as Christians do, but nonetheless, they believe in Jesus.

My point is, accept everyone for who they are, this goes for the Muslims too. Accept Christians for who they are and how they worship. If Christians accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, then accept that, if Christians sing songs to God in worship, then accept that, that's who we are and that's what we believe. Let's not keep thinking that we are right and they are wrong. Let God decide that.

Let us all love one another until God decides to return to this earth, because, one day He will.

Remember, that arguing and being bitter against one another, only causes hatred and resentment. Do what I do when I see my Muslim friends, give them a big hug and tell them that God loves them.
